Geoffrey Winter
Geoffrey Bain Winter (* after 1957) is an American horn player .
Winter started playing the horn when he was seven. He studied with well-known horn players such as Vince Derosa , James Decker and Christopher Leuba .
His first position as a solo horn player was with the Caracas Symphony Orchestra. He moved to Europe and got the position of 3rd horn player in the Philharmonia Hungarica in Marl . Winter is currently the principal horn of the Beethoven Hall orchestra in Bonn.
Winter also has many years of experience in ensemble playing. He was a member of brass ensembles such as the Philharmonic Brass Quintet in Düsseldorf and the Zephyr Brass Quintet as well as the American Horn Quartet .

- 1st prize international horn competition in Markneukirchen (1988)
- 3rd prize in the international music competition of ARD Munich (1988).
