A cuckold (also known as Cucki , Cuck or Cux for short ) is a man , especially in the BDSM scene , who gains sexual pleasure in a steady partnership or love relationship through intimate contact with other men . The cuckold may prefer voyeuristic , masochistic and / or submissive behavior. Equivalently, a woman who gains sexual pleasure through intimate contact between her male partner and other women is referred to as a cuckquean .

In English usage, cuckold is also the equivalent of the outdated German term cuckold , i.e. a man who is humiliated by cheating on his partner. With the introduction of the English loan word into the German language , a differentiation took place between the classic secret cheating and the openly exercised sexual preferences within the relationship.

etymology

The word Cuck derives from English Cuckoo or the French Coucou from (both: Cuckoo ) and the pejorative suffix of -ald .

Corresponding to the behavior of the female cuckoo, which slips its eggs onto other birds for breeding and rearing, this behavior was already transferred to humans in the Middle Ages in cases in which a married woman attributes the child conceived with another man to her husband as his own child ( Cuckoo child ). The term "cokewold" appeared in Middle English in 1250 for the husband presented. The term “ wittol ”, a derivative of the Middle English term “ witting ” ( knowingly ), describes the man who knowingly tolerates or wishes for a lover of his wife. The term appeared in verb form in 1589 as " cuckolding " and describes various forms of non-monogamous relationships.

The term cuckquean for female cuckolds is made up of the prefix cuck and the suffix quean . The latter is derived from the Old English cwene ( protogerm. Kwenǭ ) for woman. Etymologically it is related to the current English term Queen for Queen. However, while the term queen is associated with an upgrading of content, the term quean in English stands for easy girl or slut . The term Cuckquean is already literarily attested in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Features of cuckolding

The cuckold is usually inclined to be submissive, the cuckolding itself is more often part of the femdom and is therefore also counted among the varieties of BDSM. The cuckold enjoys being dominated by the woman , not only inevitably in sexual, but also in everyday matters. It can arouse him when his partner has one or more steadfast lovers. Also humiliation in this area can have on the Cuckold an erotic effect.

Often the deliberate subordination also extends to the lover, in that the cuckold also takes on a submissive role towards him and lets him dominate and humiliate him. This can go so far that the cuckold takes on the role of a servant. Sexual services, such as preparatory cunnilingus or cleaning the intimate area of the couple after sexual intercourse, are mainly described in the BDSM literature. In the field of femdom, the chastity of the cuckold is one of the topics that frequently appears in the literature.

Although the partner finds sexual and other emotional satisfaction in her lover, the bond with the partner is usually much stronger than with the lover. Many dominant women enjoy the conscious power exchange within the partnership and the demonstration of their power over their partner. For a submissive cuckold, in return, it can be a special honor to experience humiliation from his partner and thus attention and appreciation as a submissive part of the relationship. There is usually no secrecy between the partners. Here there are similarities to the principles of polyamory .

Wifesharing is to be distinguished from cuckolding , a sexual variety in which the husband or wife is not submissive.

Extension of the term to the political sphere

The negative connotation term cuckservative derived from the word cuckold (from English cuckservative , also cuck in the sexual sense ) is widespread in right-wing conservative and new-right circles. It describes a politician (rarely a sympathizer) above all of a (liberal) conservative party who, from a right-wing conservative or neo-right perspective, submitted to far- left media in advance obedience . For this purpose, fundamental conservative policy content would be thrown overboard or distanced from right-wing conservative people and parties from a tactical point of view, in order not to be suspected of right-wing extremism . More rarely, men, regardless of their political orientation, are referred to as cucks . B. advocate feminism or are concerned about being perceived as sexist . It is a political dirty word.

Originally from the circles of the American Old Right to arise, the term was especially during the presidential campaign of Donald Trump distribution.
