Georg Atzel

Georg Atzel (born December 1, 1845 in Stattmatten , † after 1918) was a landowner, mayor and member of the second chamber of the regional parliament of Alsace-Lorraine .

Georg Atzel, who was a Protestant denomination, attended elementary school and then lived as a landowner in Sessenheim .

Georg Atzel was a member of the Hagenau district council , the agricultural council , the land valuer's commission for building tax and the district commissions for capital, trade, wage and salary tax. He was mayor in Sessenheim.

In the first (and only) election to the state parliament, he ran as an independent candidate in the Bischweiler constituency. In the first ballot, 5556 votes were cast in the constituency of the 6334 voters. The center candidate Slad received 2,672 votes, Georg Atzel 1198, the liberal candidate Mayer 994 and the Social Democrat Voigt 707 votes. In the second ballot, Georg Atzel was just ahead of Slad with 2,931 votes, who had received 2,899 votes. Georg Atzel was a member of the state parliament until 1918. He joined the faction of the Alsatian Progressive Party as an intern.
