Georg Berg (born July 20, 1944 in Kettwig ) is a former German politician of the Hamburg STATT party .

Life

Berg moved with his family to Hamburg at the age of 14 and passed his Abitur in 1974 in the Hanseatic city. He studied law and passed the first state examination in 1980 and the second state examination in 1982. Since then he has been working as a lawyer . He married Andrea Jehle in 1976, with whom he has two children.

politics

In 1991 he was appointed chairman of the Rissen e. V. elected and in 1993 as deputy chairman of the founding board of the STATT party . In the same year he moved with the party around the founder Markus Wegner into the Hamburg citizenship . The party was only able to stay in parliament in the 15th electoral term from 1993 to 1997. During this time he sat for his group in the Legal Affairs Committee and the Social Committee.

In 1997 he was next to the former State Council Heinz Liebrecht initiator of the "Association for the Promotion of the Institute for Peace Research e. V. "(VFIF).

Like most politicians in the STATT party, Berg turned away from the party after the 1997 general election . In the election defeat, the party won only 3.8% of the vote. Georg Berg summed up: "The idea of ​​the Statt party has failed."
