Georg Della Pietra

Georg Della Pietra (* 1953 ) is a Swiss musician.

Della Pietra grew up in Altdorf UR and graduated from the Uri Cantonal Middle School. He taught himself various instruments. He studied classical guitar at the Winterthur Conservatory and the cello as a minor . Together with Sebastian Storm he formed the Winterthur guitar duo and was also a member of the electronic and jazz formation Thomas Diethelm Band . He also became known as the musical companion of the songwriter Dieter Wiesmann . Georg Della Pietra accompanied him for 15 years on his tours and CD productions.

In addition, Della Pietra worked as a medical doctor, photographer, journalist and hotelier.

With Annette Démarais he forms the duo Hommage , which reinterprets songs by Dieter Wiesmann after his death in 2015.
