Kaufleutstube property, Vordergasse 58

The editorial office is based in the venerable merchant's room at Vordergasse 58 in Schaffhausen. The property is owned by Meier + Cie AG. In the years 1908–1910 the interior of the building was converted into a printing press. From 1394 the property with the Romanesque knight tower was the seat of the society zu merchants (guild). The tower, which was in danger of collapsing, was demolished in 1780. Between 1780 and 1784 a new early classical building was built. In 1876 it was sold to the casino company. The guild hall for merchants , built in rococo style in 1784, shines again in its original splendor after the renovation in 2001. The hall is used for banquets and conferences.

Sister company

Meier + Cie AG also has a significant stake in the licensed regional radio station Radio Munot and in the non- licensed regional television station Schaffhauser Fernsehen .
