The Schaffhauser Fernsehen ( SHF ) is a Swiss regional television station based in Schaffhausen .

possession

Schaffhauser Fernsehen belongs to the publishing house Meier + Cie AG , which also includes the radio station Radio Munot and the newspaper Schaffhauser Nachrichten .

History of the station

Schaffhauser Fernsehen was founded in 1994 as a stock corporation. In 2008, the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) reallocated the broadcasting areas for licensed regional television stations. The canton of Schaffhausen, together with the cantons of Zurich and Thurgau, now belongs to the Zurich-Northeastern Switzerland region. The new license went to the broadcaster Tele Top . With the loss of the license, Schaffhauser Fernsehen also lost the right to receive money from fee splitting. Schaffhauser Fernsehen has had the status of a "reported TV program" since 2008 and is financed by advertising. Looking for ways to save money, the station moved into editorial rooms in 2011 in the Meier + Cie AG building on Vordergasse in Schaffhausen. A new, small television studio was also set up.

distribution

Schaffhausen television is broadcast analogue and digital via the regional cable network of Sasag AG and via Swisscom TV throughout the canton of Schaffhausen and parts of the cantons of Zurich and Thurgau. It is also distributed on the Internet beyond the region.
