Georg Gilgenreiner (born August 28, 1948 in Lenggries ) is a German motorcycle track racer who has been successful in both the speedway and long -track races .

Career

Gilgenreiner began his career in the late 1960s and had to end his career in the spring of 1984 as a result of a racing accident. His greatest success was winning the German Speedway Individual Championship in 1980. He was also a member of the German national speedway team for several years, with whom he won the bronze medal at the Team World Cup final in Olching / D in 1981. In 1981 he was with Egon Müller in the Best Pairs World Cup final in Chorzów , Poland.

Gilgenreiner also qualified a number of times for the World Long Course Final.

Personal

Gilgenreiner has been paraplegic since a racing accident in the spring of 1984. But through his company GG-Kupplungen he was still there for racing and equipped some top drivers with his clutches.
