Georg Hack

Georg Hack (born February 20, 1950 in Landshut ) is a German motorcycle track racer who has been successful on both the speedway and the long track.

Career

Hack began his career in 1971 and drove internationally from 1974. His first big success was winning the German Speedway Bundesliga championship with AC Landshut. Georg Hack's strongest period began in 1977. Hack also had an involvement with the Ipswich Witches in the British professional speedway league. Hack was in the final of the long track world championship several times and his 5th place in 1980 in Scheeßel / D was his greatest success in this competition. Georg Hack was also a member of the national speedway team for several years, with which he won the bronze medal in White City / GB in 1982.

Hack experienced his personal career high point at the end of August 1982 when he was in his first and only Speedway Individual World Championship final, which took place at the Coliseum in Los Angeles / USA. With five points, he finished 11th there. In 1985 Hack played his last World Cup final on the long track in Korskro / DK, while he ended his career the following year. Even if Georg Hack was never able to win a major national or international individual title, he is still one of the most famous and successful track racing drivers in Germany.
