Georg Kreuzer

Georg Kreuzer (born May 24, 1940 in Ziemetshausen ) is a German historian with research interests in the field of medieval church history and Bavarian-Swabian regional history. After receiving his doctorate in 1972 at the University of Tübingen under Horst Fuhrmann , he joined the Chair of Medieval History at the University of Augsburg in 1974 as a research assistant and was appointed professor there in 1989. From 1985 to 2013 he was editor of the journal of the Historisches Verein für Schwaben and from 1991 to 2005 he was the archivist of the district of Günzburg. In 1994 he became a member of the Swabian Research Association . On their behalf, he recently edited Regesten of the bishops and of the cathedral chapter of Augsburg the period 1152-1184.

Kreuzer wrote numerous articles in the Biographisch-Bibliographisches Kirchenlexikon (BBKL).
