Georg Parma lives, studies and trains in Graz . At the age of 5 he started climbing, encouraged from the beginning by the nature friends Eichgraben. He later joined the Naturfreunde Niederösterreich training group. After successes at state championships and in the school classes of the federal junior cup, he was called up to the youth national team in 2011. National and international successes quickly arose in the youth classes, both in lead climbing and bouldering. He passed his Matura in 2016 at the upper level secondary school for competitive sports SLSZ Wien West.
In the Youth European Cup he won the overall ranking in lead climbing both in 2014 in the Youth A class and in 2015 in the juniors.
At the youth world championships in 2012 he won bronze in the lead climbing competition (youth B). In the same year he climbed gold at the European Youth Championships (Youth B). In 2014 he was able to repeat these successes in the youth class A, again with bronze at the youth world championships and gold at the youth European championships, both in the lead.
Georg Parma has dominated national competitions in the youth classes and juniors since 2012, with overall victories in the Austria Cup in both lead climbing and bouldering in all years, only in 2013 (youth A) he had to win silver in the boulder -Overall evaluation content. At the Austrian Championships he has secured at least one title since 2012, and in 2015 he won gold among the juniors in both lead climbing and bouldering.
In the men's general class, Georg Parma has been regularly represented on the podium at state championships and in the Austria Cup since 2013. He won gold and the state champion title in 2015 in the lead and in 2018 in bouldering.
The first competition in the top class of climbing sport, the climbing world cup, took place in 2014. He has been part of the national team since 2016 and regularly takes part in world cup events in the general class.
