Georg Pfaff

Georg Pfaff (born May 11, 1853 in Kaiserslautern ; † April 21, 1917 there ) was a German sewing machine manufacturer. He took over the company of his father Georg Michael Pfaff after his death. During a stay in the USA in 1871, Georg Pfaff had acquired new knowledge in sewing machine construction, which he was able to contribute. Under his leadership, the company grew steadily for the first time and became the largest sewing machine factory in Europe, so that special industrial sewing machines were also manufactured for the first time in 1907/08. During the First World War , he also had to manufacture armaments in his factory. He died during the war so that his sister Lina Pfaff had to take over the company. His nephew was Karl Pfaff , who was the last family member on the company's board of directors.
