Karl Pfaff (entrepreneur)

Karl Pfaff (* 11. September 1888 in Kaiserslautern ; † 15. August 1952 ) was a German mechanical engineering - entrepreneurs and the grandson of Georg Michael Pfaff , founder of the sewing machine factory Pfaff . In this position he was the last member of the Pfaff family on the company's board after the deaths of Georg and Lina Pfaff . His father Jakob Pfaff, the younger son of the company founder, died in 1889.

Pfaff took over the management of the company after Lina Pfaff's death. At that time, the Pfaffwerk , which was badly damaged in World War II, was rebuilt and expanded according to plans by the architect Fritz Seeberger . The entrance portal, which defines the street scene, and the new administration building were also built during this time.

Karl Pfaff died unexpectedly in 1952 without an heir. After his death the company was continued by Hugo Lind.

In 1953, the newly built factory settlement was named Karl Pfaff settlement in honor of Karl Pfaff .
