Georg Richter (rower)

Georg Richter (born April 7, 1905 in Halle (Saale) ; † July 3, 1995 in Verden (Aller) ) was a German rower .

In 1949 he joined the Verden Rowing Club (VRV) and was later made an honorary member. He was the first German to be awarded the 35th Golden Driving Badge of the DRV. In 1990 he received the Equator Prize , which honors years of touring rowing performance ; the prize is awarded once if you have driven 40,077 kilometers of rowing. Richter achieved a total of over 85,000 km, as evidenced by driving badges and logbooks.

Richter was the author of various articles for the magazine Deutscher Rudersport , the association magazine of the German Rowing Association (DRV). He favored the Renneinersport and invented and constructed the rearview mirror goggles for rowers.
