Boosted darts
Boosted Dart is the name of a single-stage US sounding rocket based on the Loki Dart . The Boosted Dart had a length of 3.30 m, a diameter of 10 cm and could reach heights of around 70 km.
The first flight took place on January 12, 1966 from Wallops Island . Many boosted darts have been launched abroad as part of NASA's international cooperation :
- Argentina : As part of the international project Exametnet from the launch site CELPA (July 1966 to August 1968)
- Brazil from CLBI near Natal (1966–1968)
- India : From the TERLS launch site near Thumba for meteorological investigations as part of the Indian Ocean Expedition (1964–1966)
- Pakistan : From the launch site Sonmiani Flight Test Range for meteorological investigations as part of the Indian Ocean Expedition (1964–1967)
- Spain : from El Arenosillo in the province of Huelva for meteorological measurements (1966–1968)
