Georg Romer

Georg Romer (* 1963 ) is a German child and youth psychiatrist .

Romer studied human medicine at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg from 1985 to 1992 . In 1993 he did his doctorate at the University of Basel with the topic "For the prevention of mental and psychosomatic disorders using the example of nutritional difficulties in infancy." In 2003 he was recognized as a specialist . In 2007 , Romer completed his habilitation at the University of Hamburg with the topic: "Children of physically ill parents: studies on the need for mental health care and on the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative psychosocial interventions in a child and adolescent psychiatric risk group" .

From 2008 to 2010 Romer was acting medical director at the clinic for child and adolescent psychiatry, psychosomatics and psychotherapy at the University Clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf , then until 2012 deputy clinic director. From 2012 to 2013 Romer was chief physician in the department for child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy at Asklepios Klinik Harburg , Hamburg. Since 2013 Romer has been the medical director of the clinic for child and adolescent psychiatry, psychosomatics and psychotherapy at the University Hospital in Münster .
