Georg Sans

Georg Sans SJ (* 1967 in Mannheim ) is a German philosopher .

Life

After being ordained a priest in 1993, he joined the Jesuit order in 1994. After studying philosophy and Catholic theology in Frankfurt Sankt Georgen and Rome , he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD at the Humboldt University of Berlin . After the habilitation to the Dr. phil. habil. at the Humboldt University of Berlin in 2004 he was appointed professor for the history of philosophy of the 19th and 20th centuries at the Pontifical Gregorian University in 2006. In 2014 he was appointed to the Eugen Biser Endowed Chair for Philosophy of Religion and Subject Philosophy at the University of Philosophy in Munich .

His work focuses on classical German philosophy (Kant and Hegel), religious belief and philosophical knowledge, the history of the philosophy of the 19th and 20th centuries, questions of philosophical Christology and the work of Eugen Biser .
