Bambi Awards 1958
The 10th Bambi award took place on March 16, 1958 in the Black Forest Hall in Karlsruhe . The prices refer to the year 1957.
The new statuettes
On the occasion of the 10th award, the majolica statuettes previously used by the Staatliche Majolika Manufaktur Karlsruhe were replaced as a prize. Now the winners received a deer made of gilded bronze, modeled by the Karlsruhe sculptor Emil Sutor .
The award
There was little new with the Bambis for acting. Maria Schell won again, and Horst Buchholz was also able to repeat his previous year's victory. Again he referred OW Fischer to second place. In the international categories Gina Lollobrigida (ahead of Audrey Hepburn ) and for the first time Rock Hudson (ahead of last year's winner Jean Marais ) prevailed. The then ski star Toni Sailer also received a special invitation to the Bambi Awards, but he did not receive a Bambi.
