The 6th Bambi Awards took place on December 27, 1953 in the Passage Theater in Hamburg .
The award
In 1953, the magazine's annual poll, now called Film-Revue , was so widely accepted that almost 50,000 readers voted. After five years in which the winners had to be sought out, a separate award ceremony was now organized, which took place on December 27, 1953 in Hamburg. The award ceremony was a success, even if the Hollywood stars weren't there. Gregory Peck , who had prevailed against Jean Marais and Stewart Granger , received his Bambi in Hollywood. Ingrid Bergman was honored in Rome . She had left Esther Williams and Maureen O'Hara behind.
For their Bambis in the categories national actor and actress nationally were OW Fischer and Ruth Leuwerik celebrated. Then there was Harald Braun , who was “voted by the critics” in the Best Director category . According to the list of winners, Maria Schell was also honored nationally in the Actress category.
