The 60th Bambi Awards took place on November 27, 2008 in the Oberrheinhalle in Offenburg . It was moderated by Harald Schmidt and broadcast live on ARD .

Johannes Heesters had been promised last year that he would get a Bambi every year if he came. Well, he didn't come because he was on stage at the same time as the Bambi Awards in Hamburg . Nevertheless, he got a Bambi as the oldest living and still active actor.
A Bambi for a children's hospice
The Bärenherz children's hospice in Wiesbaden was the first children's hospice in Germany to be awarded the Bambi in 2008. At Bärenherz, terminally ill children are not only cared for, we also try to make the rest of their lives as worth living for them as possible. In addition, the parents are prepared for the death of their children and still supported afterwards. Founder Wolfgang Groh, manager Annette Huwe, pediatric nurse Ingrid Becker and Ute Büschl accepted the award on their behalf. Ute Büschl had a daughter who was born terminally ill and died after 17 days. She wanted to return the help she received from Bärenherz and volunteered there.
