The award
In 1970 there was another revolution in the history of Bambi: until 1967 , Bambi was all about films, in 1968 and 1969 it was a film award with a few television categories. This time there were no more film awards, the Bambi had become a pure television award. But the commentators didn't care. The discussions asked more whether the incumbent Federal President Gustav Heinemann could be awarded a prize like the Bambi. For his participation in the Mack family television series is changing and in a television discussion, according to Helmut Markwort's jury , he earned “a BAMBI for a congenial capture of the medium of television”. In return there was the accusation of abusing the Federal President as an “advertising figure” for their own magazines.
