Bambi Awards 1967

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 18th Bambi Awards took place on January 21, 1967 in the Herkulessaal of the Munich Residenz . The prices refer to the year 1966.

The award

In 1966 there was no Bambi award. Therefore, the second Bambi award in Munich only took place in January 1967. Again there were innovations: In the "classic" four drama bambis, which were determined by voting, there was now a silver bambi for second place. There was little new in the national categories: Heinz Rühmann and Liselotte Pulver were able to confirm their Bambis from 1965 . The silver Bambis went to Gert Fröbe and Elke Sommer . In contrast, the Winneto films found their way into the international categories . In the actors' category, Pierre Brice won the gold and Lex Barker the silver Bambi, and Marie Versini won the silver Bambi from the actresses. Only Sophia Loren managed to win a Bambi in these categories without taking part in a Winnetoufilm.

The organizers had also decided to award the jury a Bambi for “outstanding acting performance”. This went to Alexandra Kluge . As in 1965, two times three Bambi were awarded to "Merits of Artists in German Films". The 63-year-old Johannes Heesters , who won his first Bambi with it, was one of the awardees; it was by no means his last. The other deserving artists were Gustav Knuth and Hubert von Meyerinck , as well as Lilian Harvey , Elisabeth Flickenschildt and Fita Benkhoff .

Franz Burda also expanded the show character of the Bambi awards. In 1967 there were performances by Ella Fitzgerald , Duke Ellington and Mireille Mathieu, then known as the “new sparrow of Paris” .
