Bambi Awards 1992

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 44th Bambi Awards took place on December 10, 1992 in the atrium of the Hotel Maritim in Cologne .

The award

An honorary bambi for Willy Millowitsch and a bambi for Brigitte Mira's life's work . One of the themes of the award was the Olympic Games in Barcelona . For every German gold medalist, including the entire men's hockey team , there was a mini-bambi . Franziska van Almsick , who had become a star at the games in Germany, had won three medals at the age of 16, but there was no gold medal among them. She received a Bambi in the sports category . Also xenophobia and refugee policies were a topic. The charity bambi went to the soprano Barbara Hendricks for her commitment to the UNHCR . There was also a special Bambi initiative for the initiators of the fairy lights in Munich , a peaceful protest against “hatred of foreigners and right-wing radicalism”. This action, which took place four days before the Bambi Awards and in which at least 400,000 people surprisingly took part, caused a great stir nationwide.
