Linda Margaretha de Mol [ də ˈmɔl ] (born July 8, 1964 in Hilversum ) is a Dutch show master and actress , who became known through the show Traumhochzeit . In addition to the Netherlands and Great Britain , where she presented her first shows, she was particularly well known in German-speaking countries.

Your father John de Mol sen. was a well-known pop singer in the Netherlands , her brother John de Mol founded the television production company Endemol . Linda de Mol studied at the Free University of Amsterdam Law and competed in 1984 at the Pan-European TV channels Sky Channel as a presenter of the Chart Show euro Chart Top 50 . Programs like DJ Kat and In touch with the Dutch followed . De Mol brought it to over 400 television shows in the first two years of her career. Then she switched to her home broadcaster TROS and later came to the German private broadcaster RTL .

In 2005, de Mol signed a contract that binds her in the Netherlands to the television station Tien , which her brother founded . On behalf of the state lottery company (Dutch: PostcodeLoterij ), she presented the Miljoenenjacht show , the Dutch equivalent of the German series Der Millionendeal . She previously moderated the show on TROS on a public television broadcaster in the Netherlands. Together with Beau van Erven Dorens she created a new talk show, Linda en Beau op zondag .

In 2006, de Mol also presented a 32-part quiz show called De Slimste . In 2007 she and Gordon presented the format Just the two of us , a singing competition in which celebrities try to sing together with professional singers. In addition to her work in front of the camera, she has also been editor-in-chief of her bimonthly magazine Linda since autumn 2003 .

According to a report by the Dutch industry journal Quote , de Mol earned an estimated 9 million euros in 2007 for her work as a television presenter. She was the highest paid presenter in the Netherlands at the time.

In May 2008, after eight years of RTL moderation (1992-2000) of the dream wedding , de Mol presented a one-time new edition of the program as part of a ZDF pilot project .

Acting career

Since 1999 de Mol has also worked as an actress, first in the TV series Spangen , in which she played a commissioner. The shooting ended at the end of 2004. Then she developed the idea for the drama series Feine Freundinnen ( Gooische Vrouwen ), in which she also plays one of the leading roles. The series has been on Tien since 2005 and on ZDF since July 2007 and was sold in other European countries.

TV controversy about Lied der Deutschen 2001

In 2001, de Mol had a candidate in the Dutch quiz show Miljoenenjacht (the Dutch version of the German show Die Chance der Leben and later original version of Deal or No Deal ) who did not know the composer of the Deutschlandlied and answered the question incorrectly, which resulted in him receiving 10 million instead of 10 million Gulden only won one million, consoled with the remark: "Oh, het is toch een rotlied." ("Oh, that's a shitty song anyway.") De Mol was married to the jeweler Fred Reuter from 1991 to 1995. From 1994 to 2007 she was in a relationship with the television director Sander Vahle, with whom she has two children. Since January 2008 she has been in a relationship with the Dutch musician Jeroen Rietbergen.

Trivia

In the Netherlands, de Mol publishes the lifestyle magazine Linda for women. The magazine made headlines when it gave away a call boy as a subscription bonus. De Mol was then cursed as a "pimp" and accused of human trafficking. She was also shown lightly dressed on the cover of the magazine.

The punk band Terrorgruppe released a song about her with Linda on their album Musik für Arschlöcher in 1995 , in which samples from a dream wedding were also used.
