The Maritim Hotel mbH is one of the largest hotel chains and has its headquarters in the Westphalian North Rhine- Bad Salzuflen . The company operates 32 hotels in Germany and 12 hotels in nine countries abroad. The company's first hotel was built in 1969 with the Maritim Seehotel in Timmendorfer Strand and, because of its location on the lake ( maritime ), led to the company's name and logo . Expansion abroad began with the opening of a hotel in Tenerife in 1980.
The owners of the company are the daughters of the founder Hans-Joachim Gommolla, who died in 1994, Christel and Monika. The latter is also the chairman of the supervisory board.

Hotel concepts
The Maritim Hotels specialize in meetings and congresses under the motto “ Meetings and living under one roof” . All houses have large event capacities. Some hotels are directly connected to the city's convention centers, such as B. in Bremen ( Congress Centrum Bremen ), Dresden ( International Congress Center Dresden ), Frankfurt / Main ( Messe Frankfurt ), Stuttgart ( Culture and Congress Center Liederhalle ), Ulm and Würzburg.
The Maritim Hotels can be divided into the following categories:
- Conference and city hotels: These hotels are centrally located with good transport links. The event capacities are also suitable for large events. Examples include the Maritim Hotel Cologne (conference capacity in the largest hall of up to 1700 people), the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart (in the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Liederhalle up to 2200 people in the largest hall), the Maritim Hotel Bonn (2800 people) and the Maritim Hotel Berlin (5800 people).
- Resort hotels: The resort hotels are primarily geared towards individual vacationers in holiday regions and health resorts. In Germany they are located on the Baltic Sea, in health resorts and in the Black Forest, abroad in Egypt, China, Spain, Turkey and on Malta and Mauritius.
