Dormero Hotels is a German hotel group based in Berlin . The group operates 30 hotels in Germany and Switzerland (as of February 2020).

history

The Dormero brand was founded in 2007 by Hans Rudolf Wöhrl , his son Marcus Maximilian Wöhrl and Philipp Fritz Veigele. The first Dormero store was opened in Plauen , and other stores soon followed. In 2013, Intro Verwaltungs GmbH, managed by Wöhrl, took over all shares in Dormero and thus became the main owner of the brand. Marcus Maximilian Wöhrl took over the shares held by Intro Verwaltungs GmbH at the end of 2018 and has been the sole shareholder since then. In 2018 Dormero had a turnover of 72 million euros.

A trademark of the hotel group are the red trainers that all employees wear. Almost every hotel also has a pet , such as a cat , rhinoceros iguana , white-bellied hedgehog or ball python .

2016, the hotel chain was part of the RTL series Undercover Boss , in which Manuela Halm (then Chief Operating Officer of the company) as the job-seeking intern spent Svenja Schneider.

Acquisitions

In October 2019 Dormero announced that it would move into the HoHo Vienna and the former Hotel Monopol (Braunschweig) as a tenant in 2020 . The former Kaufhof building in Hof's old town was taken over by Dormero in 2019; after the renovation, hotel and retail operations will be operated side by side in the building.
