The International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers ( IANTD ) is an international diving organization for Nitrox and Technical Divers based in the USA .

The association was founded in 1985 under the name International Association Of Nitrox Divers (IAND). Dick Ruthkowski (until 1985 Dive Supervisor at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ) wanted to meet the need for the training and introduction of mixed gas diving for private divers with the establishment of IAND. The aim was to teach the benefits of nitrox and safe decompression procedures. In 1991 the name of the organization was changed to the International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers to reflect its commitment to tech diving. In 2018 IANTD was admitted to the United States RSTC standardization committee .
