Austrian diving association

The Austrian diving association (TSVÖ) is a professional association of diving clubs in Austria. The TSVÖ is a member of the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques . The Austrian diving association is the highest body in the field of non-profit diving in this country. As a professional association, it offers events and information for all interested parties from the associations in its commissions.

history

The TVSÖ was founded in 1967 and consists of 92 associations and 3200 members. On December 1, 2012, Peter Bartl was elected President and in April 2015 he was elected for a second 3-year term. The TSVÖ has its seat in Vienna and extends its activity to the entire federal territory.

purpose

The TSVÖ is a non-profit association with the purpose of promoting underwater sports and underwater research on a national and international level. It supports the formation of diving associations and regional associations and represents the interests of all Austrian divers. He organizes meetings, competitions and other events. It establishes binding guidelines for training, examination conditions and safety regulations. If necessary, he supports the executive, fire services and other rescue organizations on a voluntary basis during disaster operations.

Science and environmental protection

The TSVÖ actively helps in the preservation, restoration and monitoring of a natural and healthy habitat in terms of environmental protection. To make this possible, he has put together a team of scientists who cover the areas of freshwater biology / limnology, marine biology, underwater archeology and environmental protection.
