The Lippische Landes-Zeitung (abbreviation LZ) is a daily newspaper for the Lippe district , which can be traced back to the Lippische intelligence papers founded in 1767. The paper has been published under its current title since 1878. The LZ is one of the oldest daily newspapers in Germany. In the era of National Socialism was LZ into line . It went up in 1936 in the Nazi party newspaper Lippische Staatszeitung after the then LZ publisher Max Staercke had sold the newspaper publisher for 100,000 Reichsmarks . The newspaper could only appear again on November 19, 1949 after the license requirement for press products was lifted. The new publisher was Hermann Bösmann, who had leased the printing company from the British occupation authorities since 1945.

The LZ appears in the region between Detmold and Augustdorf in the south, Oerlinghausen and Bad Salzuflen in the west, Kalletal in the north and Blomberg and Lügde in the east. The sold circulation is 34,451 copies, a decrease of 24.2 percent since 1998. The editorial office is based in Detmold. Other locations for branches and editorial offices are the cities of Lage , Bad Salzuflen, Lemgo and Blomberg.

The newspaper reports on around 14 local pages plus local sports from the Lippe district on workdays. The newspaper cooperates with the Neue Westfälische from Bielefeld , from which the Lippische Landes-Zeitung takes over the cover pages , and is involved in Radio Lippe .

The publisher is Rainer Giesdorf, the other managing directors are Max Giesdorf (markets and distribution) and editor-in-chief Ralf Freitag (media and communication). The newspaper is printed in the Medien Centrum Giesdorf (MCG) at the printing and publishing house Hermann Bösmann GmbH in Detmold .

history

The Lippische Landes-Zeitung sees itself in the tradition of the Lippische intelligence papers founded in 1767 . The sheets printed in Lemgo appeared until 1842 and were replaced by the government and announcement sheet at the Detmold publishing site. With the edition of January 2, 1878, the Lippische Landes-Zeitung replaced the government and advertisement sheet.
