Michael Jakosits

Michael Jakosits (born January 21, 1970 in Homburg ) is a German marksman .

Career

Jakosits was Olympic champion in shooting at the running target at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona . In addition, the native of Saarland of Hungarian descent was European champion in the discipline running target at the European Championships in Strasbourg in 1994 .

In 2004 Jakosits took part in the Summer Olympics in Athens . This was his fourth time in the Olympics . In the final of the running disc discipline , he narrowly missed the medal ranks and ended up fifth.

Awards

In 1992 Jakosits was honored with the citizen's medal in his hometown Homburg for his services to Homburg sport. In the same year he also received a Bambi . He was also awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf on June 23, 1993 by Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker .
