The 55th Bambi Awards took place on November 27, 2003 in the Theater im Hafen in Hamburg . It was moderated by Jörg Pilawa and the No Angels .

The public Bambi was awarded in 2003 in the category of best young footballer. Goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand won the vote .

In addition, a TED survey about casting shows was carried out for the Bambi in the entertainment category . The choices were Deutschland sucht den Superstar , The German Voice 2003 , Fame Academy , Popstars - Das Duell and Star Search . Kai Pflaume received the award for Star Search .

In 2003, the focus was on the Bambis for Kurt Felix ( life's work ) and Muhammad Ali ( Millennium Bambi ).

Johannes Heesters had already received the Bambi for his life's work in 1997 at the age of 94. Back then, in his acceptance speech, he jokingly remarked that he wanted another one when he turned 100. To his surprise, he received an honorary bambi in 2003 - a few days before his 100th birthday. It was his fifth Bambi, and it shouldn't be his last!
