Henry Darrow (born Enrique Tomas Delgado, Jr .; born September 15, 1933 in New York City , New York ) is an American film and stage actor .

Life

Henry Darrow was born the eldest of two sons of Enrique St. Delgado and his wife Gloria in New York, but grew up in Puerto Rico , his parents' home. As a young man, Darrow enrolled at the local University of Puerto Rico , where he studied drama and political science . Darrow earned his first living as an interpreter thanks to his bilingual upbringing - Spanish as a mother tongue and English . In 1954 Darrow moved to Pasadena ( California ) where he received his first engagements at the local theater. It was here that he met his future first wife Lucy, with whom he had two children.

1959 took place in Holiday for Lovers , a film by Harry Levin his debut as a film actor. Henry Darrow then stood in front of the camera in numerous well-known television series, including High Chaparral , Bonanza , Smoking Colts or Cobra, Take Over . In The New Adventures of Zorro , an animated series from 1981, he gave Zorro his voice. When a spin-off called Zorro and Son was produced in 1983 , he resumed his role. Henry Darrow embodied mostly Hispanic characters and took the opportunity to convince in different genres. He also worked in action series, such as Knight Rider or Airwolf , but also convinced in science fiction series, including Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager or Spaceship Enterprise - The Next Century . His best-known role, which made him a very popular actor in German-speaking countries, was in the 97-part western series High Chaparral (1967–1971). There he played as Manolito Montoya alongside Leif Erickson , Linda Cristal and Cameron Mitchell one of the leading roles.

One of his few feature films in which he could be seen was Blue Heat - Lonely Time for Heroes from 1990. He was also an ace up the sleeve in the 1994 western Maverick - The Colt on the Belt .

Henry Darrow has been married to actress Lauren Levinson for the second time since 1981 ; the two now live in North Carolina .
