Zorro - The Black Avenger (Original Title: Zorro ) is an American-French television series that tells the story of the fictional character Zorro anew. During the early 1990s it made its German premiere on Sat.1 .

action

In the 19th century, the residents of old Los Angeles were bullied by their mayors Luis Ramone (seasons 1–2) and Ignacio de Soto (seasons 3–4). Don Diego de la Vega, alias Zorro, avenges the inhabitants of the village at night, but thanks to his mask he remains unrecognized even from his father Don Alejandro. At his side is the mute Felipe.

Charisma

Zorro celebrated its premiere on German television on Sat.1 from 1992. It was shown in Germany earlier than the first Zorro series from 1957, which only later showed RTL II . From 1996, kabel eins broadcast the series, and from 2011 to 2012 it was also seen on Das Vierte . In the US it was originally on the family channel The Family Channel .

background

Numerous notable actors had guest appearances in the series. For example, the later James Bond actor Daniel Craig had a role in episodes 84 and 85. Also in an episode of the third season was Jesse Ventura , who later became governor of Minnesota . For Henry Darrow, who played Zorro's father from the second season, the topic was nothing new: In 1983, he himself appeared in front of the camera as Zorro in the short-lived sitcom Zorro and Son .
