Zorro, the black avenger (original title: Cabalgando hacia la muerte ) is a Spanish-Italian adventure film with western elements from 1962. The continuation of the film Zorro - the secret of Alamos was released on May 31, 1963 in cinemas in German-speaking countries. He takes wide strands of the plot and motifs of the Zorro story by Johnston McCulley .

action

The American cavalry takes action against the last breaths of the revolt against the Mexican Californians. Zorro, who acts under a mask and whose identity is only known to María and Raimundo, kills a sergeant who is responsible for the atrocities committed by the army. The daring actions of Don José de la Torre, who appears as a bad coward in civil life, lead to the arrest of the criminal madman Carlos, who - also disguised as Zorro - heaped one mischief on the other. His brother Billy can kidnap María to get revenge on the real Zorro. However, he can win the degenduell and free María.

criticism

“Exciting adventure entertainment, full of artistry and not without humor.” Saw the lexicon of international films . R. Tabès found it to be a "tiny bitch" compared to the classics.

Remarks

There are apparently different versions in the various production countries involved. Such is the music of the Spanish and French versions of Parada, that of the Italian (entitled L'ombra di Zorro ) by de Masi.
