Alberto Grimaldi

Alberto Grimaldi (born March 28, 1925 in Naples , Campania , † January 23, 2021 in Miami , Florida ) was an Italian film producer .

Life

A lawyer by training, Grimaldi began making feature films in the 1960s. Through the production of numerous classic spaghetti westerns and audience-prone, but also controversial films by directors such as Sergio Leone , Bernardo Bertolucci , Federico Fellini and Pier Paolo Pasolini allowed Grimaldi Italian films of the 1960s and 1970s attracted worldwide attention. These films were awarded by the film company United Artists . The only exception is Ginger and Fred, who was awarded by the United Artists parent company Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in the United States.

In 2002 Grimaldi was involved in the Martin Scorsese film Gangs of New York as a producer.
