Georg Schall

Georg Schall (* 1934 ; † February 21, 2011 in Stuttgart ) was a German weightlifter.

Career

Schall began his career as an artistic gymnast. In 1953 he moved to the weightlifting camp, where he quickly developed into a successful athlete at the TSV Georgii Allianz Stuttgart club . From 1961 to 1967 he was a bantam and featherweight member of the German national weightlifting team and was able to take second place once and four times third place at the German championships for active athletes. He celebrated his greatest successes with senior citizens in the master’s field. With 9 world championship titles, 12 European championships and 27 German championship titles, he was one of the topmasters in the world. These successes and his many years of work led to a number of high-ranking honors, such as the Federal Cross of Merit, acceptance into the weightlifting “Hall of Fame” Europe in 1998 and World in 2002, and the master's badge in gold 2010.

Schall's hometown was Altenriet , where he lived with his family in a Stuttgart clinic until his death.
