Georg Schwarzenberger (politician)

Georg Schwarzenberger (born January 23, 1942 in Sankt Veit im Pongau ) is an Austrian farmer and politician ( ÖVP ). Schwarzenberger was a member of the National Council between 1982 and 2002 .

education and profession

After finishing elementary and secondary school, Schwarzenberger attended the agricultural vocational school between 1957 and 1959 and the agricultural technical college from 1960 to 1962. He did military service from 1962 to 1963 and passed the agricultural master craftsman examination in 1972.

Schwarzenberger worked in his parents' business and has been an independent farmer since 1976. In 1992 he was awarded the professional title of Economics Council.

politics

Schwarzenberger was a local councilor in St. Veit im Pongau between 1974 and 1989. From 1970 to 1975 he was also a councilor of the district chamber of farmers in St. Johann im Pongau and from 1975 to 1987 chairman of the district chamber of farmers. In 1987 he took over the office of President of the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry for Salzburg, which he held until 1991. He was also President of the Austrian Farmers' Union from 1989 to 2001. In addition, Schwarzenberger was director of the Raiffeisenkasse St. Veit-Schwarzach-Goldegg from 1979 and its chairman between 1983 and 1998.

Schwarzenberger represented the ÖVP in the National Council between April 22, 1982 and December 19, 2002.
