Georg Tuxhorn

Georg Tuxhorn (born May 8, 1903 in Bielefeld , † October 8, 1941 ibid) was a German painter ; he is assigned to the “Bielefelder Moderne” (1907–1926).

Life

Georg Tuxhorn was born as the second son of the lathe operator Adolf Tuxhorn and his wife Emma in the East Westphalian city ​​of Bielefeld. His older brother was Victor Tuxhorn . From 1919 he attended the craft and applied arts school in Bielefeld and then the art academies in Dresden and Düsseldorf . In 1923 Tuxhorn returned to Bielefeld and in 1924 he had his first solo exhibition in the Otto Fischer Gallery. After studying in Düsseldorf, he settled in Bielefeld as a freelance artist in 1928.
