Georg de Vries

Georg de Vries (born October 18, 1898 in Emden ; † June 13, 1960 Emden) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1951 to 1959 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

De Vries attended elementary school and then became a metal worker. From 1916 to 1919 he was a soldier in the First World War and then worked in shipbuilding. Since 1913 he was a member of the union and in 1919 he joined the SPD. After the end of the Second World War, he became a member of the works council in 1946. A year later he was elected to the city council of Emden. On May 6, 1951, he entered the second electoral term of the Lower Saxony state parliament, to which he remained until the end of the third electoral term on May 5, 1959.
