Willy Voigt

Willy Voigt (born April 10, 1910 in Wilhelmshaven ; † December 31, 1965 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1959 to 1965 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Voigt attended elementary school and then the commercial school in Wilhelmshaven. By profession he was a trained grocer. He worked for 35 years in the office and field service in trade and industry. After living with his family in the Sudetenland for professional reasons during the last years of the Second World War , he returned to Wilhelmshaven in July 1945. From 1948 he was a member of the city council of Wilhelmshaven and chairman of the economic committee. From May 6, 1959 until his death, he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament in its fourth and fifth electoral terms. During the entire time he was chairman of the Port and Fisheries Committee.
