Career

Adams played in the season 1888/89 for Norton Park in the Scottish FA Cup and was also active for the Glasgow club FC Cowlairs and FC Kilmarnock , for which he was not used in the Scottish FA Cup or in Division Two , the club joined the 1895/96 season came. In February 1896 he moved to the north-east of England to the second division Newcastle United , whose team consisted largely of Scottish players. At that time the runners were made up of the trio James Stott , Jack Ostler and Tommy Gheewhich led the club to rise in 1898. For Adams therefore remained until his departure at the end of the season 1896/97 only the role of the supplementary player, in which he came to a total of 13 league appearances (1 goal).

As a result, Adams played for Hebburn Argyle in the Northern League , then is said to have played in the Southern League for four years from 1899 before moving to Darlington St Augustines again in the Northern League in 1903 , which is also his last documented station.
