George Benson Christian College at Namwianga Mission

The George Benson Christian College is a school teacher training center in Namwianga, 5 km south of Kalomo ( Zambia ), which has been set up, run and maintained by the Namwianga Mission since the early 1990s. This American Protestant mission of the University City Church of Christ runs a secondary school and a secondary school in addition to the George Benson Christian College in Namwianga.

The college trains teachers to teach English, math, history, religion, social studies and information technology in secondary schools. A few students receive training at the commercial school in order to later work as secretaries in the economy.

The college offers graduation at the end. The University of Zambia is responsible for technical supervision of the curriculum and degrees . The training enables direct employment in the Zambian school service, especially since the students prefer rural areas where teachers are urgently needed. The college itself aims at this placement of its students, of whom it expects to be present in the church alongside their profession. Missionary work is part of the overall missionary society activity.
