George Charles Keidel

George Charles Keidel (* 1868 ; † 1942 ) was an American Romanist and Medievalist of German descent.

life and work

Keidel, who was descended from German-Lutheran immigrants, received his doctorate as a student of Aaron Marshall Elliott at Johns Hopkins University with the work (ed.) The "Évangile aux femmes". An old French satire on women (Baltimore 1895, Geneva 1974; Romance and other studies 1). He was an Associate Professor of Romance Languages ​​at Johns Hopkins University and later worked as an expert in the Library of Congress's copyright department .
