George Cramne

George Kelly Scott (* 20th December 1960 as George Cramne in Monrovia , Liberia ) is a former Swedish Boxer Liberian descent.

Scott was Scandinavian champion in 1986 in featherweight (-57 kg) and in 1990 in lightweight (-60 kg). At the Olympic Games in 1988 he reached after victories over John Nkagala, Malawi (5: 0), Michael Carruth , Ireland (KO 1st), Charles Kane, United Kingdom (4: 1), and Nergüin Enchbat , Mongolia (3: 2 ), the final in the lightweight. Here he faced Andreas Zülow , GDR , to whom he lost 5-0 judges' votes.

Scott turned pro in 1991 and won 41 of 46 fights in his career through 2001. He played an IBF light welterweight championship fight against Jake Rodriguez in 1994 , which he lost by technical knockout in the ninth round. In 1995 he won the world title of the rather insignificant WBU association against the former IBF lightweight world champion Rafael Ruelas. After several title defenses, Scott tried to win the WBC lightweight title in 1998 , but lost on points to Stevie Johnston.

Scott was also active as a kickboxer.
