Profile career

Michael Carruth fought his first professional fight after leaving the Irish Army on February 26, 1994 in London against the Englishman George Wilson, whom he defeated on points. In 1994 he defeated five other opponents before he suffered a setback in Glasgow on January 21, 1995 , when he lost to Scottish Gordon Blair on points.

In the years 1995 to 1997 he won a number of other fights and on March 9, 1996 in Millstreet , Ireland, also successfully took revenge against Gordon Blair, whom he clearly beat on points that day. On September 20, 1997, he fought in Aachen against the Romanian Michael Löwe boxing with a German license , who at that time also had German citizenship, for the WBO world welterweight title. In a fairly even match, 2 judges voted for Leo while one was a tie. Löwe thus remained WBO world champion .

Michael Carruth then boxed twice for world championships from smaller boxing associations. On September 19, 1998 he won the WAA welterweight title in Dublin by winning points over Scott Dixon from Scotland and on February 15, 2000 he lost in the fight for the IBO light middleweight title in London against Adrian Stone from England in the 5th round through techn. KO.

After this fight, he ended his professional career.

After boxing
