Julius Gustav Albert "Bert" Schneider (born July 1, 1897 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , † February 20, 1986 ) was a Canadian boxer who celebrated his greatest successes in the 1920s.

Schneider's greatest triumph as an amateur boxer was winning the welterweight gold medal at the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp with a victory over the British boxer Alexander Ireland . After his gold medal, he became a professional boxer in early 1921, but was unable to win any more titles in his career. His last of 42 professional fights, of which he won 18 fights and lost 19, he completed on June 16, 1927 against Joe Gainor , against whom he lost by technical knockout. He is a member of the Canadian Hall of Fame .
