George Stephen Newell (born January 27, 1997 in Formby ) is an English football player .

Career

George Newell was born in 1997 to former soccer player Mike Newell in Formby , England , in the Borough of Sefton on the Liverpool border. He began his football career in the youth of Everton FC, for which his father already played. After five years with the Toffees , Newell moved to the Bolton Wanderers . After playing there in the U23, he made his debut for Bolton in the English second division against Hull City in April 2016 when he was substituted on for Emile Heskey . Another use followed in the season against Fulham FC . In August 2016, the striker was loaned to AFC Fylde in the National League for one year , where he played twice in the league. In July 2017, the 20-year-old left Bolton and moved to Motherwell FC in Scotland .
