George Sanger

George Sanger (* 23. December 1825 in Newbury , England; † 28. November 1911 in Middlesex ) was a British circus - impresario .

George Sanger initially worked in his father's mobile peep box business. In 1853 he founded his own show business with his brother John Sanger. In 1871 they rented Astley's Amphitheater in London and ran a large traveling circus. At the end of the 1870s, the brothers severed their business relationship.

George Sanger published his memoirs Seventy Years a Showman in 1908 .
