Course of the road

The Georgetown Road is an arterial road in the northeast of the Australian state of Tasmania . It connects the northern suburbs of Launceston and Lilydale Road (B81) to the East Tamar Highway (A8). It is named after the city of George Town , northwest of Launceston on Port Dalrymple , to which it used to lead. Today the East Tamar Highway creates the corresponding connection.
course
The road branches off the East Tamar Highway west of the Launceston suburb of Mowbray . It is called Newnham Link for the first half kilometer and heads east to the center of Mowbray and then continues north to Newnham . North of Newnham branches off the Lilydale Road (B81) to the east , while the George Town Road continues north and northwest and finally meets the East Tamar Highway again.
