George Washington Ewing
George Washington Ewing (born November 29, 1808 near Adairville , Kentucky , † May 20, 1888 there ) was an American politician.
Career
George Washington Ewing, tenth child of Jane McLean (1769–1847) and Brigadier General Robert Ewing Jr. (1760–1832), who served during the Revolutionary War and the British-American War , was born about four years before the outbreak of the British-American War Logan County was born and raised there. His father moved from Virginia to Kentucky and settled near Adairville. Nothing is known about his youth. Ewing was married to Nannie L. (1821-1883). He served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1842 to 1844 and from 1859 to 1863 . After the secession of Kentucky, he then represented his home state in the Provisional Confederate Congress and the 1st and 2nd Confederate Congress . He died near Adairville in 1888 and was buried there in the Old Red River Meeting House Cemetery .
